After their trip, every e-domizil customer is given the opportunity to rate the vacation accommodation they have visited. Within the scope of this individual evaluation, different evaluation criteria can be rated with up to 5 stars. From the simple average of all evaluation criteria then the total note of the respective single evaluation is computed. In comments on various questions and categories, customers can also share their experiences in their own words.
The overall rating score of a vacation accommodation is calculated from the simple average of all individual ratings.
e-domizil does not offer any benefits, special conditions, discounts or other incentives for submitting a positive rating or withdrawing a negative one. In general, all customers receive an e-domizil voucher worth CHF 20 for a short review and an e-domizil voucher worth CHF 30 for a more detailed review - regardless of whether it is a positive or negative review.

Measures to verify the ratings
e-domizil has taken various measures in its rating system to ensure that the published ratings only come from consumers who have visited the respective vacation home. These reviews are marked on the website with "verified customer".
How is it ensured that the ratings are genuine?
Technical measures
e-domizil sends e-mail invitations to submit reviews after the customers have left the vacation domicile. The e-mail is sent only to those e-mail addresses through which a vacation home booking was made. Using the link in the e-mail, it is possible to submit a rating about the vacation home that was actually booked.
Manual measures
Further manual measures are also used to check that only those customers who have also visited the vacation home submit ratings.
To ensure that the authenticity of the rating and its legitimacy can be verified, ratings can only be submitted in connection with an actual trip/booking as well as the e-mail address specified in the process. The e-mail address through which the purchase was made thus always serves us as a verifiable reference for the rating submission. For data protection reasons, however, each customer has the option of having his name anonymized in the evaluation presentation on the website.
In the event of anomalies or indications that suggest that the rating is not based on experience, despite the above-mentioned technical measures, proof of the legitimacy of the rating submitted will be requested and checked accordingly. If the requested evidence cannot prove the purchase of the goods or the use of the services, the ratings will be deleted.
Notes on special cases
Ratings from partners
In addition to ratings that e-domizil itself collects by sending e-mails, e-domizil also displays customer ratings from partners through which the respective vacation home can be booked. The verification check for these reviews is carried out directly by the respective partner who collects the customer review.
In the case of reviews where it is not ensured by e-domizil or the partner that all reviews come from such customers who have actually visited the vacation domicile, these are also not marked as "verified customer".
